Note | Maybe it was his sister, Marina, who tempted her brother to come to America where her and her family had already been for a few years. The passport for the overseas journey was issued (peasant Nikita Sergejeff his wife Maria and 3 and half month old child Ivan was granted 9 sep 1902 by the Governer of Arkangel). They started the journey later in the Autumn of 1902. In america spent a couple of years in Diamondville, Wyoming. The head of the family worked first in a mine and then in some enterprise, and there is a picture of the two siblings and their families (about 1904) when Mikko's family already had two sons. Then they got homesick and they returned to Finland in 1907. Their possesions were packed in the "American chest" which remained in the family for a century.
